Alan Ferscht, descendant of the family, emailed the following in March 2007:
"My grandfather's name was Samuel Fersht. He was a tailor from Klodawa, who came to the UK in about 1910. His brother Shmeier, another tailor, came over a little later, and spelled his name Firsht. He married his cousin from Klodawa, Rivka Karo. According to Yad Vashem records, there were four Klodawa Fershts who were killed in the Chelmno camp: Mordchai, Meir (Meyer), Feiga and Pesia. (In all, Yad Vashem records 390 Fershts killed in Poland.)"
