Per Michael Pizer at his home 2/08: The Moshenberg family converted to Catholism before the war. They were obviously looked down upon by the Jewish community. After the war, there were funds and supplies sent by the various organizations to help the Jewish people. Apparently, Moshenberg was trying to claim some of this relief, even though they were no longer following the Jewish religion.
